No Flower Arrangements/Bouquets

Have you noticed the new popular trend of not using flowers at all? Consider an arrangement or bouquet made up of all broaches (or other costume jewelry pieces), feathers, or even butterflies.

Store Bought Flowers

When purchasing flowers from anywhere other than a florist, always, cut flowers on an angle, place in luke warm water, and ALWAYS use the packet of floral preservative that comes with your flowers.

The packet will not only feed your flowers but will clean the stems and water. A must since you never know where your flowers have been!

Tell A Story

Let your centerpieces tell a story. Add meaningful objects, memorabilia, and symbolic colors. Your arrangements will have more interest and create a great conversation piece.

Droopy Roses?

If you have droopy roses, gerbera daisies, peonies, or camellia branches, fill up a tub with cool water, clip the stems on an angle, and let them soak for a few hours to rehydrate.

Gardenias

Love the smell of flowers? Try using gardenias! They smell amazing! Just don't touch their soft white petals or they will bruise and turn brown. Worried and want them in your wedding? No problem! We have lots of tricks and great tips to help make sure your wedding looks, and smells, wonderful.

Can't find the perfect vase?

Anything that can hold water can be a vase! A teapot, a glass bottle, a pumpkin, carved out apples, watermelon, or even a red pepper, an emptied out medicine jar, a child's old toy, a fishbowl, a baby bottle, and there are still so many more. Start looking around your surroundings and see what you can find to create the perfect non-traditional vase.

Polls in the floral industry are finding that men love to get flowers as much as women do. A creative florist can design an arrangement using more natural elements and flowers that are not "fluffy," or with a strong fragrance. And instead of putting them in a traditional vase, why not put them in a golf bag, in the holes of a bowling ball, or out of his favorite soda can? Add sports items like golf tees, a tennis racket, ball cap, or even playing cards.

Don't let the cold winter months get you down. It's been scientifically proven that by having even one bright flower can brighten your spirits even on the gloomiest day.

Cut vase flower arrangements love to have their water changed AND their stems cut on an angle every day.

Over Budget?

A good florist will have lots of "tricks" to help you save money....use your toss bouquet at the register, use ceremony arrangements on your reception buffet table. Always ask and be creative! You just might get the wedding of your dreams!

Some of the best inspiration, as well as great additions to your flower arrangement, is to add fruits or vegetables. Apples, citrus fruits, artichokes, asparagus, kale, and even fresh herbs make wonderful and inexpensive additions to any arrangement.
